ALÀUDIDS

Hooola!

Salut!

Hi!

Last weekend I found the birds of the attached photos feeding in a freshly plowed field in Pego.

On the field I thought they were Short-toed lark Calandrella brachydactyla, but this species is migratory, and is not present in winter at La Safor. Then I realized that the birds showed spots on the chest, and that their bill was thin and quite long, distinct from the bills of both Short-toed and Lesser short-toed larks c.rufescensLooking at the pictures I still have doubts, I think now that probably they are Skylarks Alauda arvensis

We would appreciate any contribution for properly identify the birds.

Possibly it just happens that we are unfamiliar with these species, uncommon at La Safor.
 Salut!
